Start of Book Club Take Two

So this time we are for sure going to start. If you havn't signed up yet make sure to go do that so you can join all the fun before it's too late. Now to start off I want you all to go to the forum, sign up, and post your thoughts on your excpectations of the books and what you think will happen in it. Then start reading the book! It would also be really great if as you read you mark off quotes you really like and stuff you have questions on. There are pages on the forum to post those things too. I'm going to have a calendar up in a little bit to show you what will be happening in the next two weeks.

Well I don't have many books that I own that I havn't read but on my Goodreads account I have 145 books To be read and I am always adding more books on there. So as of the moment there is 145 but I'm pretty sure that by the end of the day it will be more.

Change of Book Club Start Date

Since I only had two people sign up for the book club I have decided that I am going to start the book club August 21st. So sign-up below and tell all of your friends about it. If you don't know what to books are about check out their pages on the sidebar. The more people that join the more fun it will be. Please comment if you sign up though because I have had the issue of some not going through and I want to make sure everyone is accounted for. I have some great things planned but we need participation for it to happen.

Re-create A Cover Challenge 3

So I found another re-create a cover challenge! This one is over at Trisha's Book Blog. The book is Coffeehouse Angel by Suzanne
Summary:
 When Katrina spots a homeless guy sleeping in the alley behind her grandmother’s coffee shop, she decides to leave him a cup of coffee, a bag of chocolate-covered coffee beans, and some pastries to tide him over. Little does she know that this random act of kindness is about to turn her life upside down. Because this adorable vagrant, Malcolm, is really a guardian angel on a break between missions. Im not really sure about this cover fitting the book but I was having a hard time with it so I decided this one will have to work. What do you guyst think of it? I think it would be pretty sweet if I won since the prize is awesome.

Recreate A Cover Challenge 2

This time the book is Losing Faith.

Summary:
When Brie's sister, Faith, dies suddenly, Brie's world falls apart. As she goes through the bizarre and devastating process of mourning the sister she never understood and barely even liked, everything in her life seems to spiral farther and farther off course. Her parents are a mess, her friends don't know how to treat her, and her perfect boyfriend suddenly seems anything but.

Book Club (1)

It's time to start our first book club session! If you havn't signed up yet you still can untill the 14th. I have some really exciting things planned.
To start out I want everyone to go over to the forum, here , and go to the book club section. Then for the books your reading I want you to comment on the posts with your expectations of the books. Talk about what you think will happen, who will be your favorite character, and anything else you want to talk about.
Then once you have done that start reading the book(s)

 Do you listen to music when you read? If so, what are your favorite reading tunes?

I don't always listen to music when I read, but I tend to do it a lot when Im in the car or trying to concentrate. My favorite tunes to listen to are usually the slower songs. Right now I like Always Midnight and Try from fame the most.

Recreate A Cover Challenge

Over at Princess Bookie there is a contest where you have to recreate the cover of the book You Wish. I loved doing this and the idea was such a great one. Im not a big fan of how the cover came out but at least I had fun lol. I have seen some great covers though so you really should go check them out.

This Week's Question:

 Who is your favorite new-to-you author so far this year?

This is a hard one because there is two that I was introduced to this year that both write amazing books. I think I'll just talk about both. First there is Maggie Stiefvater. I got Shiver from a book club me and my friends have and I fell in love. Then about a month late, luckily for me, Linger came out and I fell in love again. Her writing draws you in and the guy characters she writes, wow. Secondly there is Holly Black. I had heard such wonderful things about White Cat and when I got it, I dropped the book I was reading for school and sat down and read it. I was not dissapointed. There is so much suspense and the idea of the book is so great and you wonder how someone can come up with it.

So What Do you think of these authors and what author(s) is your favorite new-to-you author?

I decided I would do the Book Blogger Hop this week just to get this blog out there.

RIGHT THIS INSTANT, WHAT BOOK ARE YOU DYING TO GET YOUR HANDS ON (PAST, PRESENT, OR FUTURE)?

I defintley want to read Clockwork Angels. I have heard so many great reviews about it from all the bloggers who got ARC's and I love Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instrument series so I am dying to get that book.

Book Suggestions

I'm starting to think about what books to do for the first book club. I have a few in mind but I want to hear what you guys want to read. So leave me a comment on this post with a few suggestions. They can be any books.

About The Site

I bet you're sitting there in front of your computer dieing to know "What is the mortal book club?" Well don't worry because the wait is over and I am going to explain to you how the site works right now. To make it more fun and organized it's going to be in question and answer form.

How will it work?

Every two weeks new books will be chose and there will be a form where you can sign up for which books you want to read. You can read all of them or just one. Then during those two weeks I will make posts with books like quotes, quizzes, contests, etc. There will also be forum where you can discuss everything and anything about the book with other people who are reading it. At the end of the two weeks their will be a survey seeing how you liked the books and such and then you can suggest things for the future.

How many books will there be every two weeks?

I am going to start with 3 books. From there I may make it more or less.

When will all this fun start?

It will start on August 7th so you don't have too long to wait. Don't forget to save the date! Untill then e-mail or comment some book suggestions, check out the forum, or other things on the site.

Do I have to Participate every time?

Nope. You can participate the first time, take the second time off, and participate again the third.

What if I don't like any of the books?

Either suggest some books or give one of them a try, you may end up liking it.
